TFG Engineering is currently leading the mechanical and E&I erection for Phase 2 of the coastal refinery expansion. This highly complex undertaking requires navigating strict coastal environmental regulations while erecting over 10,000 metric tons of structural steel and installing advanced hazardous-area instrumentation.
The primary challenge is coordinating heavy lifting operations within a congested, partially live plant environment. Wind speeds on the coast also heavily restrict crane operability windows.
We implemented a modular construction strategy, pre-assembling large pipe racks and structural modules safely on the ground before lifting them into place. This reduced working-at-height hours by 40%.
